NGL Hollingsworth Trophy – Group B

Both Wellingborough and Kingsthorpe made the most of home advantage in their opening fixtures as they defeated Priors Hall and Rushden respectively.
Wellingborough rarely looked in danger as a comfortable victory from Tim Veal and Martin Dalton (7&5) sent them on the way.
Three other convincing wins followed, before Jon Harris and Chris Howes wrapped up a 5-0 success by taking the last game on the 18th hole.
Daniel Blackmore and Jack Walding were the only Kingsthorpe pairing not to get anything in their contest with Rushden as Jason Benzie and Mark Brown gave the visitors some early hope.
But the hosts weren’t to be denied as Steve Jackson and his partner, Mark Lineham and Taylor Sargeant, Jake Croxford and Jason Spence and the final pairing of Mark Bazeley and Matt Landers collected points.
