Northampton extended their unbeaten sequence to seven matches as they grabbed their sixth victory of the campaign with a 9-6 win at Rushden.
The Group A pacesetters surged into a seven-hole lead after just two games, before holding off a valiant fightback from the hosts for whom Mark Maddox and Stuart Carvell (four holes) and Ian Brown and Nigel Scanlon (two holes) excelled late on.
Group B
Reigning champions Collingtree Park made it six wins in six matches this year with a 8-2 victory at Silverstone.
Despite trailing early on, the visitors grabbed the honours, thanks to wins from Roo Smith and Adrian Kilshaw (two holes), Tom Low and Stephen Low (one hole), Alistair Biggin and David Messom (four holes) and Mike Clarke and Ron Major (one hole).
Group C
Brampton Heath recorded their sixth consecutive win after completing a 20-3 home success against Oundle.
Steve Holt and Brendan Kelly (four holes) and John Norrey and Dale York (four holes) were successful early on, but Andrew Gosling and David Masters stole the show with a stunning 11-hole win in the final game.
Group D
Kettering and Farthingstone missed an opportunity to move level with Hellidon Lakes and Kingsthorpe at the top of the standings as they battled out a 6-6 draw.
Although Kettering, who enjoyed home advantage, led by four after the opening tie, the visitors always remained within touching distance as they secured a share of the spoils with a two-hole win from David Carthew and Matthew Isaacs in the last game.
