Wellingborough retained their Ladies Scratch League crown with one match still to play as they romped to their third successive whitewash victory of the year, beating Overstone Park 3-0 at Whittlebury Park GC.
The emphatic scoreline was rarely in doubt as Ellie Darnell and Carol Gibbs took the first two games with seven holes to spare, before Amanda Rawson added a 7&5 win.
Northants County had looked likely to set up a winners-take-all clash with Wellingborough on the final day of the campaign but they slumped to a 2-1 defeat to Northampton, for whom Katie Amos bagged the decisive point.
