Australian Master of the Amateurs
Leading county amateur Ben Jones will be looking to climb back into the world’s top 100 when he begins a busy month by teeing off in the Australian Master of the Amateurs at Royal Melbourne GC this week.
The Northants County member, who is currently ranked 115th after being as high as 39th, joins a strong field from 18 different countries, including five other English internationals and world number one Justin Soh.
Jones then plays in the Australian Amateur Championship from January 15th, the New South Wales Amateur Championship a few days later, before completing his trip down under with the Avondale Amateur Championship at the end of the month.
The 19-year-old, who helped England win the 2018 Home Internationals, will be aiming to build on a solid performance last time out as he made the cut in the South Beach International Amateur in Miami, USA just before Christmas.
