Whittlebury Park emphasised their status as one of the teams to beat this season in the Ladies Cecil Leitch as they powered to a 6-1 victory at Delapre Park in Group B.
Although the opening two games were shared, Whittlebury wasted no time in securing their first away win of the campaign with points from Sandy Pattenden, Susan Colby, Kay Edwards, Ann Lester and Danielle Edwards.
Wellingborough were successful in their debut Group C outing as points from Jacqueline Mudd, Pat Briggs, Bina Shah, Pat Dawson and Gill Rivers earned a 5-2 home victory against Peterborough Milton.
Cold Ashby had few problems securing their first home win of the campaign as they recorded a 6-1 success against Northants County in Group A.
Despite County’s Diana Murkin taking the opening game, the hosts surged clear, thanks to points from Sally Lawrenson, Pamela Kerr, Marguerite Kraus-Rudder, Ruth Sleigh, Cathy Newman and Julie Bott.
Oundle’s strong middle order of Kim Pateman, Karen Johnson, Carla Fogarty and Veronica Lyon made the difference in their home contest with Overstone Park as they snatched a 4-3 victory in Group D.
