Wellingborough showed their nerve at home to Northants County as they held the defending champions to a 4-4 draw.
Although Theo Brown bagged the opening point for the hosts, County took control of the match thanks to solid wins from Owen Watts, Corey Neville, Charlie Salter and England international Ben Jones.
With all the remaining three games going the distance, Wellingborough responded with points from Richard Brown and recently-crowned Club Champion Chris Howes, before Jon Harris grabbed a share of the spoils with another victory down the last.
Northampton bagged their first victory of the season in style as they recorded a 7½-½ home success against Peterborough Milton, who dropped to the bottom of the standings.
The home points came from Matthew Bearman, Samuel Gilkes, Lloyd Skidmore, Andy Saunders, Mark Bazeley, Ross Skidmore and Lewis White, while Andrew Limbert had to settle for a half.
