County Pairs success for Harris and Sanders again
NGL Seniors Pairs Open
Countback was required in the first County Seniors competition since the COVID-19 lockdown as three partnerships came in with the leading tally of 40 points in the NGL Pairs Open at Brampton Heath.
In a thrilling conclusion, the Wellingborough duo of Glenn Harris and Ricky Sanders grabbed the win for the second time in three years, thanks to a superb back nine of 23 points.
Reigning champions Ted Dunn (Peterborough Milton) and Dennis Mathers (Northampton) were runners-up from Kingsthorpe’s Tim Johnson and Steve Townsend, although both pairs will be disappointed after picking up just one point on the 18th hole.
