Junior League in 2021
Youngsters across the county of Northamptonshire still have plenty of golf to look forward to this season, despite the coronavirus restrictions meaning they will not be able to play during the current half term break.
The bitterly cold recent weather may have prevented any golf over the last few weeks anyway, but the next generation of club members are keen to get out on the course again.
Northampton Golf Ltd are also eager to see boys and girls of all standards and ages show their developing skills, and in particular during the Junior League, which is scheduled to take place in the spring and summer.
Eight different clubs will be represented in the 2021 tournament as the youngsters hope to follow in the footsteps of Peterborough Milton, who went on to clinch the national title last year.
Milton have an excellent record in the event, including providing both finalists in two of the last four years, and will have three sides in the latest competition.
Overstone Park, Kettering, Northants County and Northampton have A and B teams this season, Collingtree Park and Rushden are involved in Group A, while Wellingborough are chasing their first win in the group stages since 2017.
More details of the fixture dates will be forthcoming on the resumption of golf, when a full schedule of individual events in the 2021 Junior Order of Merits will be also be confirmed.
