Shivani is girl to beat at Milton… again

Midland Junior Champion of Champions

Peterborough Milton’s Shivani Karthikeyan held her nerve over 36 holes on her home course for the second time this season as she won the Midland Girls Champion of Champions event by one stroke.

After being crowned Northamptonshire champion in late May at Peterborough, the scratch golfer balanced local knowledge and the weight of expectation perfectly as she carded rounds of 76 and 79 to nudge ahead of Isobel Kelly (Erewash Valley).

Eloise Feely (Northants County) and Chelsey Sharp (Peterborough Milton) finished seventh and ninth respectively.

Oliver Pritchett faired best of the three Northamptonshire golfers in the Boys Champion of Champions as the Northants County member posted scores of 73 and 75 to finish in third position.

With plus-five handicapper Seb Cave (The Belfry) winning in a play-off, County duo Euan Herson (Peterborough Milton) and Jadon Pham (Overstone) were both well down the field.
