Overstone Park

A strong start and a good finish enabled Luke Dunmore to seal first prize in the Overstone Park 16-hole February Stableford with the leading mark of 38 points.

The high-handicapper carded gross pars on three of his first four holes, before adding a birdie on the 16th hole to nudge a couple of points clear of Brian Mapley

Three was the margin of victory in the February Mid-Week Stableford a few days later as Julian Hardy posted 40 points over 16 holes to finish ahead of Chris Cooke and Kevin Heap.

Priors Hall

Calculators were needed to decide the prize winners in the fourth week of the Winter League Doubles at Priors Hall after six different pairs came in with the best 11-hole score of 28 points.

Michael Burlington and Craig McCardie eventually gained the verdict from runners-up Anthony Lamond and Dany Reid and third-placed Adam Geoghegan and Jeff Conisbee. Darren Buchan and Scott Gordon were next, ahead of Charles Frost Thomas Wilson, followed by Kevin Bullimore and Tom O’Donnell.

The sixth round of the Seniors Individual Eclectic witnessed the same winning score a few days earlier as Danny Callaghan grabbed the plaudits by one from Ian Hunter and Bernard Rallison.

Rushden

Forty two points was the winning total in the fifth round of the Rushden Winter League as Kane Attley clinched a single point win from Sara DeBanke, with Paul Newell in third on 39.

Scoring proved more difficult in the Sunday Winter Stableford the following day with Kevin Sheehan’s 35 points securing first place by one from David Mayes.

Wellingborough

Club champion Jon Harris combined perfectly with his dad Glenn, plus Chris Howes and Martyn Annis to win the Men’s February Winter Team competition with a combined score of net 59.3 at Wellingborough.

Dan Barker, Wayne Partridge, Andy Cox and Nick Blount (60.1) claimed second position ahead of Chris Dicks, Chris Smith, David Castle and Tom Houghton (61.8).
