Whittlebury Park
Five gross birdies were on the winning scorecard of James Baldwin in Whittlebury Park’s February Stableford as he picked up shots on the third, ninth, 11th, 13th and 15th holes.
The eight-handicapper’s winning total of 42 points meant he finished four ahead of Craig Barnard, with Mark James and Paul Swain a further point off the pace.
Deborah Dixon led the scoring in the nine-hole ladies competition by two points from Tracey Heavey and Sue Colby (both 14).
Hellidon Lakes
Big points totals proved hard to come by at Hellidon Lakes in the February Stableford as the members struggled to discover their best form.
Martyn Bannister’s tally of 34 points proved sufficient to grab first place as he finished two ahead of top division duo Sam Wade and Gavin Aris, with high-handicapper Terry Washbrook on the same mark.
Staverton Park
Twenty three points was the winning score in three of the four Staverton Park Seniors nine-hole competitions in the middle of the month.
Peter Johnson and Chris Cotton both posted that mark on their way to two and three point wins respectively in the Blue Group Front Nine events, while Mick Worthington finished three clear in the Red Group Back Nine tournament.
In the other Red Group Back Nine competition, Robin Brown’s total of 20 points was enough to lift him one clear of Alan Bosher and Ray Rumble.
Northampton
Northampton’s youngsters celebrated another excellent year at the Harlestone Golf Club by holding their annual presentation evening.
With more than 80 people in attendance, including new Junior Captains Elliott Strickland and Jade Potter, the night was hailed as a great success.
Daventry
Alf Chessum found his best form in Daventry’s fifth Winter Medal as the eight-handicapper posted a winning round of net 68. Jack Cooper (70) finished runner-up by two shots from Thomas Gibbs.
