Missed cut for Evans on Challenge Tour

Ryan Evans was unable to capitalise on an excellent opening 65 in the Jonsson Workwear Open on the European Challenge Tour as he missed the cut with a second round 76 at Durban Country Club in South Africa.

The Wellingborough pro, who became a father for the first time at the end of January, was hoping to build on a positive performance last week when he carded scores of 70, 69, 77 and 68 in the Bain’s Whisky Cape Town Open.

Despite shooting eight birdies on the first day, Evans was made to pay for back-to-back double bogeys on the 16th and 17th holes in the second round as he finished three shots below the cut line.
