Northampton

Almost one hundred boy and girl members at Northampton Golf Club celebrated another successful year for juniors as they held their annual presentation evening.

With over 50 prizes being handed out on the evening, some of the regular visitors to the winners table included Toby Heath, who reduced his handicap from 39 to 13 during the season, and Riley Hammond, who dominated the nine-hole category.

Elliot Strickland collected three boys gross awards, while Lila Bisset also recorded a hat-trick of wins in the girls categories.

Ollie Walden earned the Martin Crossman award for his dedication to the junior section, while Jamie Grieves won Coach of the Year for his fitness work with many members of the junior section.

Hellidon Lakes

Ludlow Johnson made it back-to-back wins in Tigers Winter Merit League competitions at Hellidon Lakes as he secured first place in the fifth week with a total of 40 points.

The week four winner finished well clear of runner-up Joe Kingston and third-placed Angus Watt, who both shot 36.

In the November Stableford, Darren Welsh’s score of 36 points was enough to nudge him one ahead of Paul David.

Whittlebury Park

Andrew Norris and Craig Carrington combined best in the second week of the Men’s Whittlebury Park Winter League as the posted an excellent tally of 47 points. Richard Crook and James Baldwin finished runners-up in the Bruton Plate event on 45.

In the latest nine-hole stablefords, Rob Askham (18) won the men’s competition by one from Wonder Munemo and Richard Hunt, while Deborah Dixon (17) clinched the ladies prize by a couple of points.

Staverton Park

Forty eight points was an astonishing winning score in Staverton Park’s November Stableford as Nick Smith grabbed all the plaudits.

In normal circumstances, Keith Lambdon’s round of 45 points would have sealed top spot but he had to settle for second after finishing six ahead of Christopher Walton and Simon York.

Kingsthorpe

Maurice Lines and his partner were successful in the third Winter League event at Kingsthorpe with a score of 84 points. Adam Malin’s side were second on 77, with Russ Beadsmore’s team in third on 76.

Daventry

Five points was the margin of victory in the second Winter Stableford at Daventry as Craig Alcock (41) secured first prize ahead of Malcolm Bunker and Jason Smith, who finished second and third respectively.
