Staverton Park
Mark Robson showed his capabilities on both the front and back nine at Staverton Park as he won the latest two Seniors Winter Series first division competitions on countback.
Robson bagged 22 points over the outward stretch to edge out Allen Halliday and Ian Machell, a few days after shooting 21 points over the closing stretch of holes to beat Nicholas Burtt.
In the latest two second division competitions, Roy Patrick and Richard Harris were successful over the front and back nines respectively with 21 points apiece.
Kingsthorpe
Danny Barber and Martin Dunn bagged an impressive betterball tally of 46 points to win the fourth week of the Kingsthorpe Winter League as they finished two ahead of a couple of pairings.
Countback was required in the Seniors Stableford Qualifier after Rich Miller and Richard Johnson both came in with the leading score of 39 points. The former gained the verdict.
Whittlebury Park
Peter Snook and Phil Heavey were successful in the third round of the Whittlebury Park Men’s Winter League as they bagged the leading score of 47 points.
Andrew Garner and Ron Carron (46) were runners-up in the Bruton Plate competition by one from Phil Webster and Derry Barton.
In the latest Nine-hole Winter Stableford, Stephen Harris (19 points) and Christine Coles (16) secured the men’s and ladies prizes respectively.
Hellidon Lakes
Rounds six and seven of the Tigers Winter Merit League at Hellidon Lakes witnessed comprehensive victories for Paul Shurvinton and Rick Francis respectively.
Shurvinton bagged 40 points to finish six clear of Joe Kingston and Ted Craig, while Rick Francis carded a superb tally of 42 to bag the plaudits ahead of Len Edwards (37) and Roy Trim (36) less than a week later.
