Asian Tour

Northants County professional Ben Jones has secured a card to play on the 2023 Asian Tour after coming through Qualifying School at Lake View Resort in Thailand.

Jones, who became the first Northamptonshire golfer to play in the Walker Cup during his amateur career, needed to show his mettle in final qualifying as he earned playing rights for the new season via a play-off against eight other golfers.

With 35 cards up for grabs, the 23-year-old compiled scores of 68, 67, 67, 72 and 73 to finish on the mark, before grabbing a birdie on the first additional hole.

The Asian Tour, whose competitions have attracted entries from several LIV Golf Tour pros, including Sergio Garcia, Louis Oosthuizen and Paul Casey, features events in Oman, Qatar, New Zealand, Thailand, India, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Korea.
