Overstone Park

Forty five points was the leading score in the Overstone Park February Yellow Tee Stableford as both Calum Vango and Mark Romain posted the best round.

Vango did just enough to seal the countback verdict from Romain after carding 11 gross pars and a birdie two on the 13th hole.

A strong finish also made the difference in the February Mid-Week Stableford as 23-handicapper Jason Kelly posted three gross pars in the last seven holes to beat Gordon Chiverton (39) by a single point.

Priors Hall

Mathew Mills and Les Mahon bagged 29 points over 11 holes at Priors Hall to clinch victory in the fourth week of the Winter League Doubles Competition.

John Lappin and Rob Rooney (28) claimed the runners-up spot on countback from Jason Ford and James Allison, while Nick Lazic and Ian Hunter were fourth on the same score.

Paddy McLean and Colin Sawers, who finished second on countback to Daniel Lowe in the sixth round of the Seniors Winter Eclectic a few days earlier, also bagged 28 points.

Wellingborough

Stefan Mycawca, John Thrippleton and Alan Smith combined well in the Seniors Waltz competition at Wellingborough as they earned first prize with the leading mark of 85 points.

John Nicholas, Neil Wilmore and Roger Seamark (81) were runners-up by one from Neil Robinson, Gerry McGrady and Rod Gibbs.

Rushden

Kane Attley and Scott Manning combined best in the Rushden American Greensomes competition as their tally of 45 points was one more than any other pair could shoot.

The fifth weekend of the Winter League saw some excellent scores posted on both days as Joe Evans (45) nudged one clear of Eugene Emanuel on Saturday, before Brian Mitcham (42) beat Malcolm Kendall Snr on countback 24 hours later.
