Anglian League vs Norfolk

Northamptonshire men’s first team secured their first Anglian League victory in 2018 with a comprehensive 8½-3½ win against Norfolk at Wellingborough GC.
After a narrow home loss to Leicestershire was followed up with a disappointing display at the Eastern Counties, the team showed their determination to put things right as they led 3-1 after the morning foursomes.
Any fears of a collapse were quickly ended as singles points from Michael Farr, Mike Chambers, Liam McNeela, Fraser Carnihan and Jamie Milligan, plus a half, confirmed an excellent win.
It was a different story unfortunately for the second team as they went down by a single point in the reverse fixture at Eaton GC.
Despite losing all four morning pairs games, the team put a brave fight in the singles but wins from Taylor Sargeant, Jamie Powell, Tom Burgh, James Barker and Richard Dalton, plus a half from Ian Wicks, wasn’t quite enough to snatch victory.
