County Boys Under-14s
Northamptonshire Boys Under-14s team maintained their unbeaten record in friendlies, which stretches back to 2017, with an excellent 4½-2½ away victory against Bedfordshire at Aspley Guise & Woburn Sands GC.
Oscar Bell and Kai Raymond gave the visitors the ideal start with a 5&3 win, while Elliot Strickland and Jack Peters were successful on the 18th hole.
The hosts responded by winning two matches and looked set to move in front but Harry Smith and Isaac Redding took the last two holes to snatch a half for Northamptonshire, who then seized control.
Despite playing off the white tees, nine-year-old Jack Meakin combined superbly with fellow new boy Aiden Jaggard to grab a 3&2 win for the county, before Ben Atherton and Jadon Pham confirmed the team victory with a magnificent par on the last hole.
