Evans claims third prize on Portugal Tour

Wellingborough professional Ryan Evans made a good start to his season as he finished third in the Dom Pedro Victoria Open on the Portugal Pro Tour.

Evans, who struggled for form on the European Challenge Tour last year, carded rounds of 70, 68 and 72 at Vilamoura to end up six shots behind winner Koen Kouwenaar (Netherlands). Fellow County pro Callum Farr finished 37th.
