Teenager Baylie Pyke saw her handicap drop to six after winning the Overstone Park Ladies January Medal by two strokes from Gill Hodgson with a net 70.
Steve Fletcher and Barry Jackson also saw one stroke come off their respective handicaps after their respectively victories in the Men’s Medal and Mid-week White Tee Stableford.
Fletcher, who was playing off 19, carded a net 66 to finish one ahead of James Yarborough, while high-handicapper Jackson’s 40 points lifted him clear of David Lawrence, Reg Lawson and Jamie Newton.
At Staverton Park, Jim Sutherland and Ken James both enjoyed narrow victories in the latest two Seniors Winter Series events over nine holes.
Sutherland carded 20 points on the outward loop to finish one ahead of Roy Patrick, while James shot the same tally on the back nine to finish a single point ahead of Ian Machell and Ray Smith.
Gavin Aris, Simon Keyte and Robert Riley were the three divisional winners of the first monthly medal held at Hellidon Lakes in 2019.
Aris (net 72) beat Richard French in the top section on countback, Keyte carded a net 73 to finish one clear of Malcolm Gregory and Duncan Childs in the second category, while high-handicapper Riley carded the best score of net 70.
The best score in both divisions of Collingtree Park’s January Stableford was 41 points as Adrian Watson and Joe Johnson led the way.
Watson finished two ahead of Max Maddison in the higher-handicap category, while Johnson needed countback to get the better of fellow single figure golfer Trevor Twelftree.
