Overstone Park

Two gross birdies on the front nine at Overstone Park helped Tony Osborne secure first place in the November Medal as the eight-handicapper carded a magnificent net 64.

Dave Makepeace, John Bryant and Mick Haynes were next on 65, while Leomelia Davis (72) clinched the ladies prize by two shots from teenager Freya Pickford.

Ten gross pars were on Gordon Chiverton’s winning scorecard in the November Seniors Midweek Medal as the 16-handicapper triumphed by three from Stuart Hammond with a net 65.

Rushden

Day one of the Rushden Winter League first round witnessed a collection of excellent scores with Scott Carter leading the way on 45 points, followed by Terry Wesby (43) and Jon Sidey (42).

On the second day, Nigel Barber and Mark Alvis were the leading players as they both carded 41 points.

Priors Hall

Glyn Davies beat the course at Priors Hall by six holes to win the Bogey Competition from Terry Marris (three up), with Alan Smith and Ian Abrahams a further two off the pace.

It was much closer in the first 11-hole Seniors Winter Eclectic event as James Allison (27 points) defeated Gerry Parton on countback.

Kettering

Robert Henbury’s 38 points sealed first prize in the Seniors Anniversary Trophy at Kettering by one from Mike Cantillon and Asif Manji.

Countback was needed in the Ladies October Medal six days earlier as Ann Cooney edged out Kathy Morrison with a net 73.

Wellingborough

Jim Nolan’s net 70 secured a single stroke victory in the Wellingborough October Midweek Medal as he nudged ahead of Steve Bason and Martin Dalton.
