After collecting the award from host presenter Clare Balding at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate, the teenager received praise from Sky Sports TV’s Nick Dougherty, who tweeted: “Congratulations Emily!! Thoroughly deserved. Keep up the great work.”
Horsted responded on Twitter: “Amazing evening at the England Golf Awards and so grateful to have won the Young Volunteer of the year award. And thank you so much to Nick Dougherty for the very kind words.”
