Golf news from south of the county

Whittlebury Park’s two 18-hole golf courses will host one of the most popular amateur events in the country as the William Hunt Trilby Tour visits the Northamptonshire venue for the second consecutive year for a regional qualifier on June 25th.

Darren Welsh, Paul King and Matt Riley were the three divisional winners of the March Medal at Hellidon Lakes.
Welsh carded net 72 in the top category, King triumphed by one from fellow mid-handicapper Tony Inskip (71), while Riley also enjoyed a single shot advantage in the third section.

Ian Smith, Adrian Watson, Mark Hemmings, Nic Aiken, Liam Davies and Michael McGuiness will all be looking to transfer their form into the 2019 season after reaching the finals of the Winter Pairs Series at Collingtree Park.

Brian Elphick’s margin of victory in the March Medal at Farthingstone was just a single point as he edged out Anthony Marriott and Richard Hook (both 38).
