Roy Trim prevented Richard Barnes from securing a third victory in the Hellidon Lakes Tigers Winter Merit League as he won the fourth round with 41 points.
Barnes, who was successful in rounds one and three, collected the runners-up spot on countback from Dante Serra with 38.
Whittlebury Park
Four gross birdies in a six-hole burst around the turn helped Peter Bleakley win the Whittlebury Park October Stableford as the seven-handicapper’s total of 41 points proved too much for Chris Houghton (40). The Ladies Stableford went to Clare Davies (33) by three from Tracey Heavey.
Daventry
David Harper avoided a shocker at Daventry as he won the Extra Halloween Stableford on countback from James Berry after shooting 40 points. Stephen Sawbridge finished third on 38.
Farthingstone
Birdies on the 15th and 18th holes at Farthingstone helped Simon Nightingale clinch the John Morgan Trophy as he nudged one point ahead of fellow 10-handicapper David Summerfield (40). Barry Jones was third on 39.
Kingsthorpe
Maurice Lines was the only player to match his handicap in the Seniors October Stableford Qualifier as he finished three points ahead of Perry King (33) at Kingsthorpe.
Staverton Park
Keith Lambdon’s 41 points led the way in Staverton Park’s October Stableford as he finished two ahead of Ted Nilsson and Adrian Thompson.
