Kingsthorpe

Richard Johnson prevented Bob Lees from winning his second competition in the month at Kingsthorpe as he clinched the October Seniors Stableford Qualifier on countback.

With Lees having secured victory in the October Medal a few days earlier, Johnson prevented a repeat result as a slightly better back nine in a total of 38 points made all the difference.

Overstone Park

High-handicapper Stuart Wallace carded 44 points to clinch the Social Cup at Overstone Park by one from Paul Beauchamp, who carded three gross birdies and an eagle, and Sean O’Brien.

Three points was the margin of victory in the October Yellow Tee Mid-week Stableford as Barry Jackson (45) secured the plaudits from Kevin Heap.

Mike O’Neill was successful in the Weekend Stableford a few days earlier as his tally of 41 points pushed him one ahead of Paul Dudley-Smith.

In the second week of the Ladies Winter Series, Debbie Pendlebury (18 points), Jackie Frampton (17) and Alison McConnell (16) claimed the podium spots in the nine-hole competition.

Whittlebury Park
