Northamptonshire Wonders
All young golfers who have played in a nine-hole Junior Open in Northamptonshire this year have been invited to play in a special Northamptonshire Wonders at Delapre Park Golf Centre on Sunday, September 18th.
The events at Collingtree, Overstone, Northampton, Cold Ashby, Peterborough Milton and Wellingborough attracted big fields for their shorter-length competitions, so the participating clubs therefore felt that it would be appropriate to offer the next generation of club members an opportunity to enjoy a special day as a reward for taking part.
With Delapre member Seb Welch playing in all six Junior Opens, winning at Collingtree, Cold Ashby and Wellingborough, his coach David Sanders offered to host the unique tournament at his home club.
Sanders said: “It’s always important to support junior golf. So it’s only right that these young golfers who have played in the nine-hole competitions at some great golf courses in Northamptonshire have a chance to play in a Grand Final this year.
“I’m sure it will be a memorable day at Delapre Park, not just for the players but also their families.”
The NGL are organising a separate Grand Final for the leading 18-hole boys and girls in the County Gross and Net Order of Merits on Sunday, September 11th at Kettering GC.
