Ladies Ceil Leitch

Wellingborough came agonisingly close to the perfect start to their Ladies Cecil Leitch season as they recorded a brilliant 6-1 away victory against Kingsthorpe in Group C.
Jacqueline Mudd, Gill Rivers (both 6&5), Susan Kellett, Susan Sharp (both 5&3) and Lema Townsend (3&2) secured comfortable wins, before Liz Rees added another away point down the last.
A whitewash proved just beyond Wellingborough however as Karen Molford won the last match on the 18th hole.
In Group A, Sophie O’Brien, Olwen Hickman, Anne Goodchild, Susan Kreft and Diane Pickford collected the points for Northampton as they recorded a 5-2 home success against Cold Ashby.
