Ladies European Tour

Meghan MacLaren emphasised her battling qualities in the Andalucia Costa Del Sol Open on the Ladies European Tour as she overcame a poor start to finish 14th at Real Club De Golf Guadalmina.

The Wellingborough golfer looked in danger of missing the cut in the last event of the year after dropping five shots in her opening 10 holes on the South Course, before responding with two birdies and six pars in a first round 75.

MacLaren maintained her momentum into day two as she bagged five birdies and an eagle on the 17th hole in a brilliant 68, before shooting scores of 72 and 71 to finish in 23rd position in the end-of-season rankings.
