NGL Scratch League
Brampton Heath’s promotion push out of the third tier of the Scratch League continued with a dominant 6-0 home success against Rushden.
The result rarely looked in doubt as Harry Brown (7&5), Alec Francis (7&6) and Jack Brown (5&4) strolled in with big wins under their belts.
Stephen Field and Damien Heffernan also came through with holes to spare, before Lee Wilkins capped the perfect day for the hosts by clinching the remaining point on the 18th hole.
Although Silverstone, who collected a 5-1 walkover home win against Oundle, remain top by two points, they will almost certainly need to get something from their last two away matches to stay ahead of Brampton, who have two matches in hand.

Northants County A finished top of Group D after closest rivals Collingtree Park could only manage a 2-2 draw away to Kettering A, who also had a mathematical chance of qualifying for the semi-finals going into the last match.
Needing a convincing win to leapfrog above County into first place, Collingtree made an excellent start as Lucy Haywood and Krishan Panesar both recorded big wins.
Although this meant Kettering couldn’t finish any higher than third, the hosts showed their battling qualities by grabbing a share of the plaudits, as Ben Atherton won on the 18th hole, before James Attwood came through 2&1.
County A will now face the County B team in the last four at Overstone Park GC on Sunday, September 18th, while Peterborough Milton B take on Overstone Park B in the other semi-final on the same date at Northants County GC.
