Overstone Park golf course was a popular venue amongst the ten competing teams in the Midland Men’s County Championship event over the weekend as Derbyshire took the honours by two points from Warwickshire.
In glorious warm sunshine, the home county struggled to make the most of local knowledge as the six-man line-up finished well outside the reckoning, as the individual prize went to Leicestershire’s James Billingham on five-under-par 139.
Peterborough Milton’s Jacob Williams, meanwhile, lifted the Andrew Hare Salver after winning the MGU Youth Boys competition by a couple of shots with a two-under-par 70 at Stoke Rochford GC a week earlier.
