Midland Under-14 Boys County Championships

Northamptonshire completed a one-two in the net category of the Midland Under-14 Boys County Championships as Ollie Penberthy and Ben Bailey found their form at Stanton-on-the-Wolds GC.

Northampton member Penberthy carded nothing worse than a bogey off his 17 handicap as he pipped Bailey (Northants County) on countback after both shot brilliant rounds of net 64.

With the county selecting just one single figure handicapper in their six-player line-up, the boys didn’t figure in the shake up for team gross prizes as they finished seventh out of 10 as Cambridgeshire won by 17 strokes.
