Midland Under-16’s Boys County Cup

Northamptonshire’s Under-16’s Boys team put up a strong defence of their Midland County Cup title as they finished fourth at Radcliffe-on-Trent GC on Sunday.
Max Hayward compiled the joint-third best individual score of 72, Owen Watts and Luis Witherall shot decent scores, while NGL Junior Gross Order of Merit winner Theo Brown and Joseph Quinn battled hard to give Northants a competitive total.
A score of 384 wasn’t quite enough for the county however as Lincolnshire triumphed on 367, with Shropshire & Herefordshire second, followed by Derbyshire.
