NGL Cecil Leitch League
Group A
Northampton remain the only team with an away success in Ladies Cecil Leitch Group A after Daventry’s double header with Cold Ashby ended with one home victory apiece.
Ashby held the upper hand in the opening fixture on their home course as points from Rose Dempsey, Sally Lawrenson, Ruth Sleigh, Wendy Owen, Julie Bott and Sue Begley secured a 6-1 win.
Jacquie Bailey, who bagged Daventry’s only point, led the perfect response a week later as she secured another victory as the team completed a 5-2 success on their home course.
Group B
Brampton Heath drew level with Whittlebury Park at the top of Group B after they grabbed their third victory in three outings with a 5-2 home success against Kettering.
Although Kathryn Stronach took the first game for Kettering, who edged a tight home clash with Delapre by a single point a few days earlier, Brampton quickly took control thanks to Ann Eason, Wendy Mckie, Jane Rowe, Jean Pickering and Bryony Travill.
Group C
Good home wins from Carol Dunn (7&6), Christine Goodall and Janette Hill (both 4&3) helped Peterborough Milton secured their first victory of the season as they overcame Elton Furze 5-2 in their Group C contest.
Group D
Overstone Park recorded the first away victory of the season in Group D as Ellen Steel, Shirley Morton and Katie Watkins took the last three points in a 4-3 success at Rushden.
After beating Staverton 5-2 at home earlier in the week, Overstone now sit top of the pile alongside Oundle, who have won both their home matches this year.
