NGL Junior Elite Academy

The new NGL Junior Elite Academy’s first session was hailed as a success after 26 boys and girls, between seven and 13 years of age, met at Overstone Park GC on Sunday morning.
With the coaching initially being delayed due to the frozen greens, the participants were given the special opportunity to tap into the knowledge of former European Tour pro Gary Boyd in a question and answer session.
NGL Player Development and Coaching Director Mike Gilbrook said: “Gary gave us an insight into life on Tour, what and how to practice and offered a general overview of how to make it to elite level golf.
“He explained what he would do differently if he were sitting as one of the players in the academy, before the players had three skills tests to perform.
“The player of the day was home club member Jadon Pham, who demonstrated wedge skills that Gary would have been proud of, scoring 105 points – 20 more than second place.
“There is a really positive vibe in this group and we are looking to develop the amazing talent to elite level to ensure the continued success of Northamptonshire at county, national and international level.”
