Northampton’s early charge proved decisive in their away clash with Kettering as early points from Geraldine Morris (4&2), Sue Avison (5&4), Annie Goodchild and Helen Brownless (both 4&3) helped secure a 5-2 victory.
It was a similar story three days later in their home contest with Wellingborough as the hosts grabbed the first five points in a 6-1 win that lifted them to the top of the table.

Group B
Rushden secured their second home victory of the campaign as the strong middle order of Ali Thornhill (7&6), Anne Bewers (3&2), Claire McIlroy (5&4), Janie Wood (5&4) helped earn a 5-2 victory against Delapre.

Group D
Whittlebury Park needed to use all their battling qualities early on against Elton Furze before the reigning champions eventually edged a thrilling home contest by a single point.
Points from Tracey Heavey and Christine Coles on the closing hole in games one and two proved decisive for the hosts, before Jill Aldous and Juliette Parish ensured the win with more comfortable victories. Pauline Hurley, Oggie Wentworth and Mel Steel were successful for Elton Furze.
