Northampton recorded a thrilling 4-3 home victory against Northants County in Ladies Ceil Leitch Group A as six of the seven ties reached the 18th, with the other being decided on the penultimate hole.
Geraldine Morris, Anne Goodchild and Mary Morris were successful for Northampton while Vivienne McManus, Cecilia Edwards and Andrea Alston replied for the visitors, before Margaret Worthington confirmed the home victory by winning the closing hole against Dawn Mallard-Parker.
Oundle’s strong tail made the difference in their home contest with Rushden as they recorded a second consecutive 5-2 home victory in Group D.
After beating Overstone Park earlier in the month, a repeat result for Oundle looked in doubt when Yvonne Wilcox and Karen Findlay won games one and two respectively for Rushden.
Liz Swan and Carla Fogarty quickly drew the hosts level on the 15th hole, before points from Ros Riley, Claire Izod and a thumping win for Sarah Parsell confirmed the Oundle victory.
It was a similar story 24 hours later for Overstone at home to Staverton Park as they needed points from Ellen Steel, Lynda Davis and Katie Watkins in the last three ties to wrap up a 5-2 team victory.
