NGL Scratch League – Division 1

Northants County clinched the 2018 Scratch League crown with one game still to play after a 5-3 away victory at Overstone Park on Sunday.
After thumping Peterborough Milton 7-1 at home the previous weekend to move within touching distance of the title, County got off to a strong as Rhys Taylor took the opening game 4&3.
Although the next two points were shared, the away side surged to victory, thanks to wins from Luis Witherall (3&2), Liam McNeela (3&1) and Tom Bullough (2&1).
Last year’s champions Wellingborough improved their chances of avoiding relegation with a 5-3 success at Kingsthorpe the previous day as Duncan Cornish, Roger Butler, Adam Sherlock, Richard Brown and Tiger Adams recorded big wins.
