Northampton Tigress
England girls international Matilde Santilli led from start-to-finish to clinch the inaugural Northampton Tigress title by 13 strokes at Northampton GC.
With a strong field of under-21 women’s golfers assembled for the first World Amateur Golf Ranking event to be held in this county for a number of years, the Surrey teenager provided the class performance.
After carding birdies on three of her last four holes in an opening 73 to lead by four from English Girls Open champion Sophia Fullbrook, the Foxhill GC member surged clear on the second day as she shot scores of 73 and 74.
Fellow England internationals Madeleine Smith and Amelia Wan came through to grab a share of second spot, with Fullbrook in fourth position.
Home club member Jade Potter finished as the highest-placed Northamptonshire golfer in ninth, while Overstone Park’s Amy Nunn, who bagged a hole-in-one on the 13th hole in her second round, was 10th.
