Northamptonshire Seniors v Cambs

Northamptonshire Men’s Senior team avoided defeat in a competitive match for the first time this year as they recorded a battling 9-9 draw away to Cambridgeshire at Brampton Park GC.

Following losses to Nottinghamshire in the East Midlands League and Suffolk and Norfolk in the Anglian League, the County looked set for another reverse when they trailed after the morning pairs.

But the side showed their determination in the afternoon singles as points from Alan Freeman, Brendon Moss, Richard Dalton, Gary Grimmitt, Greg Thomas, Alistair Heslop and Ted Dunn, plus a half from Grahame Castle, secured a share of the spoils.
