An experimental Northamptonshire County Girls team will take many positives from their pre-season friendly with Bedfordshire despite losing 4-0 to a very strong home outfit at Colmworth GC on Sunday.
In a match played over 12 holes, Overstone Park club-mates Abbie Thompson and Tamsin Munro hit the opening tee shots for a county side that had seven debutantes.
Eloise Feely (Northants County) and Faith Atkinson (Collingtree) played in game two, while Olivia Barbi (Wellingborough) and Cheynelle Bolton (Overstone) were involved in the third tie.
Overstone’s Martha Pieterse enjoyed the responsibility of captaining the team for the first time as the 11-year-old played alongside Emily Goodall (Kettering) in the last game.
