NPGA Winter Series
Simon Lilly and Michael Campbell remain the professionals to beat in the 2019/2020 NPGA Winter Series after both finished in the top two in the latest couple of events in the off-season.
After winning the Kettering Pro-Am at the end of September, reigning Order of Merit champion Lilly (Staverton) was successful over 36 holes in the NPGA 36 hole Strokeplay Championship at Wellingborough GC.
Although Kettering’s Campbell led by one shot after an opening round of 70, Lilly took control thanks to a magnificent bogey-free eight-under-par 64 as he grabbed the honours by six strokes.
Campbell managed to turn the tables a couple of weeks later in the Whittlebury Park Pro-Am as a round of three-under-par 69 secured the top prize by one from Lilly and Northants County’s Adam Myers.
