Open Championship

Professional and amateur golfers from across Northamptonshire will be hoping to move one step closer to playing in the 2019 Open Championships when they take part in Regional Qualifying at Northants County GC on Monday.
Cherwell Edge’s Gary Boyd, who played in the Open in 2008, 2011 and 2015, is taking part, alongside pros Adam Myers (County), Simon Lilly (Staverton), Luke Barney (Overstone), Simon Williams (Cold Ashby) and David Poolton (Kingsthorpe).
With the Open being played at Royal Portrush GC in Northern Ireland in mid-July, amateurs Robin Williams (Peterborough Milton), Fergus Robinson and Mikey Chambers (both County) will be looking to progress from a field of 90 golfers.
