Scratch League
Division 1
Reigning Scratch League champions Overstone Park collected their first victory of the season with a comprehensive 5½-2½ success at Wellingborough, who have now lost all three of their matches this year.
The visitors rarely looked in any trouble as big wins from Lawrence Ryan (7&6), James Barker (7&5), Lee Hitchcock (5&4) and new County Men’s Champion Ryan Genner (5&3) set them on their way.
Although Wellingborough took games three and eight, Overstone wrapped up the team victory with a half from James Gardner and a 2&1 success from Richard Dalton.
Division 2
Kettering showed their battling qualities away to Cold Ashby as they bagged three of their four points on the 18th hole in a 4½-3½ victory.
The hosts took the opening tie and the closing two games, but Kettering kept their nerve in the middle ties as Andy Robinson, Ed Keech and Nick Keech all triumphed down the last.
With Luke Saywood adding a comfortable win, it was left to Jordan Darnell to seal the first away victory in the second tier this season as the Kettering member halved his match with Jamie Kerr.
Division 3
Oundle picked up their opening victory of the campaign at home to Rushden as they edged a tight third division contest by a single point.
The good form of the lower middle order proved vital for the hosts as points from Adam Butler (2&1), Michael Davidson (5&3) and Cory James (5&4), in addition to a half from Jacques Lourens, secured the team win.
