Seniors Championship
Gary Grimmitt made the best of local knowledge to win the NGL County Seniors Championship on his home course at Wellingborough GC.
The two-handicapper carded five birdies in a one-under-par gross round of 71 to finish four strokes clear of Brendon Moss (Brampton Heath).
The net President’s Trophy went to Priors Hall’s Arthur Lenaghan, whose net 68 lifted him a single shot ahead of Paul Parker (Northants County) and Grimmitt, who was also part of the winning gross team alongside club-mates Roger Butler and Steve Crawley.
Countback was required to decide the winners of the net team category as the Priors Hall trio of Jack Marr, Nick Toseland and Lenaghan edged out Kingsthorpe’s Dale Betts, Anton Clarke and Kev Purkis on 225.
