The Shires Junior Golf Tour
Overstone Park’s James Miller continued his excellent form as he grabbed the plaudits in The Shires Junior Golf Tour Grand Final by posting the best score at Wellingborough GC.
Fresh from winning the Northamptonshire Wonders Nine-hole event at Delapre last month, Miller made a seem-less step up to 18-holes as he carded a magnificent tally of 51 points.
Edie Connolly (Collingtree Park) finished runner-up in the Silver Division on countback from Kingsthorpe’s Oscar Cooke with 41.
Local knowledge off the back tees proved vital in the Gold Division as Jack Meakin, who is a member at Wellingborough, bagged 31 to edge one in front of Sam Thomas and Oliver Fitzgerald.
The Bronze Division, which is played over nine holes, also witnessed a Northamptonshire winner as Connie Stonestreet (Overstone) smashed 25 points to finish seven clear of Eva-Grace Parsons (Northampton).
