The Shires Junior Golf Tour

Brampton Heath’s par three course provided a perfect opportunity for young golfers to test their skills last weekend as they took part in the opening Winter Series event of The Shires Junior Golf Tour.

Despite the chilly conditions, the quality of golf was of a high standard as the four divisions were all claimed with exceptional rounds.

Oliver Golby carded a net score of 21 to win the Gold category by three from fellow Northants County youngster Jack Meakin.

Edie Speirs (20) won the silver section by one from Evan Fowler, the Bronze plaudits went to Caelan Beveridge (17), while Niall Goodridge led the Diamond non-handicap scoring with a gross 40.

The second of four Winter Series events will take place at Brampton Heath on Sunday, January 8th.
